Available for Purchase

 Hi there!

Thank you for your interest in participating in our All-Ivy special performance. We are thrilled that the St. Louis alumni clubs from all eight Ivies have come together both to celebrate the return of live theater for families to St. Louis - and to help young people without means to be able to experience it as well. This exclusive page lets you purchase pod seating tickets to the performance on May 15 at 1 PM.

Any donations you make with your ticket purchase will help underwrite tickets for young people in economically challenged school districts, ensuring that children of all backgrounds can enjoy equal access to the social-emotional benefits of live theater. Every $25 gift funds three local school children to attend a school matinee performance. (Click here to see a list of schools and school districts which have received underwriting support from Metro Theater Company to attend productions over the last three years.)

What are the social-emotional benefits of theater?

Our Impact

Ticketing Basics
Seating options:
-Outdoor seating for The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show is organized into 20 socially-distanced "pods."

-Each pod will act as a separate seating area for one family group to share.

-Pods are available in two seating arrangements: lawn seating and chair seating. Chairs will be provided for chair seating. If you select lawn seating, we encourage you to bring your own blanket.

What that means for you:

-When selecting and purchasing a pod, you'll need to choose your desired size and seating type. Our seating chart, shown below, provides a handy visual guide.

-When you've selected your pod, please enter the number "1" as your quantity-think of it as one family group.

Prefer to stream the production for virtual viewing?

Metro Theater Company is grateful to Rockefeller Productions and Eric Carle for the license to stream this production to audiences across nine states in our region - Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Please note that if you are reserving tickets online to stream this production, your credit card billing address must be located in one of these nine states. Purchases attempted from outside this region will be refunded. We regret any inconvenience for audiences outside of this region, but encourage you to look for a local production of this extraordinary play at a theater near you in the next few years.

When you purchase your ticket to stream the show, please email Development Manager Lauren Brooks at [email protected] to let her know your All-Ivy affiliation so that your purchase counts toward your club's total sales.

FAQs and CHECKOUT

What is the lawn seating experience?
Lawn seating (in red and orange above) is closer to the stage. Seating is on the ground, and for sightline purposes no chairs are allowed. We are strongly encouraged to bring your own blanket if you select lawn seating. By doing so, you help reduce the risk of cross contamination and ensure a safer outdoor performance experience for all patrons. And don't worry, we have waterproof tarps you can put your blankets on in the event there is any weather prior to the start of the show.

What is the chair seating experience?

In these pods, further to the back, chairs are provided. The number of chairs included will match the number of people in your party when you register. All chairs are fully wiped down with disinfecting wipes between performances. Chair pods are placed behind lawn pods to protect sightlines of all ages.

How many types of pods are there?

For each performance, there are 20 total pods (lawn and chair).

Do I get to pick the location of my pod?

No. Upon arrival at Kirkwood Performing Arts Center, you will be directed to your type of purchased pod. Parties with younger children will be seated closer to the front of your seating section to help make sure even our youngest guests have great sight lines to watch the show.

What if there is rain?

In the event of unpleasant weather, we will call a rain delay on the start time of a performance if possible. If unfortunate circumstances of weather require us to cancel a performance entirely, our box office will work with you on an alternative date to see the production. You may also opt to exchange from the live performance to virtual streaming performance access instead. If it is impossible to reschedule you, our box office will provide ticket refunds.

What if I need an assisted listening device?

Please let us know in advance so we can have the right quantity of devices available at this performance. Just send us an email at [email protected] letting us know the date and time of your performance and how many devices you will need.

What if I'm not feeling well?

We're all being extra cautious about health and safety these days for obvious reasons. If you are running a temperature, come down with a cold, or evidence any other potential symptoms of COVID-19, please protect your health and the health of others by staying home. We will be happy to transfer your tickets to a virtual streaming performance instead.
